The “Isle of Enchantment” – Old San Juan, Puerto Rico

090Appropriately named the “Isle of Enchantment”, Puerto Rico offered historic charms, breathtaking coasts and modern cities. This photograph truly speaks to it – the old and grand, balanced with the colorful modernity of it all. This was a rickety old door, photographed on the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan.

We had the good fortune of staying in Hotel el Convento, a 350 year old Carmelite convent that has been converted into a small luxury hotel in the heart of Old San Juan.

Beautiful door. I love photographing doors because I think they have so much character and are so diverse. Thanks for sharing the fruit of your good eye for doors. :)
