Ernie was one of three miniature horses I encountered upon my wanderings through upstate New York on a frigid day. He’s a sweet, curious little guy. I needed some distance to get some good shots, although every time I steadied myself to take a photo, I found him sniffing my hair or curiously exploring my camera lens. I got many photos of his snout and his beautiful eyes and, in a rare moment when he gave me a bit of room, I managed to capture this lovely one of him.
